San Francisco Bay Area | Downtown San Francisco

For shopping purposes, downtown is the area which includes Union Square and the blocks down to Westfield Mall on Market Street. In Union Square you’ll find the main department stores (Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, and Macy’s) as well as many main designer boutiques including Chanel, Gucci and Loro Piana. As you head down the hill, you’ll find numerous chain stores and finally wind up at Westfield Mall on Market Street, home to Nordstrom and Bloomingdales. But don’t fret, there are a couple family-run businesses downtown that I adore.
